Thanksgiving 2009 was spent with Matt's family coming to spend the holidays with us. It was a wonderful time of juicy turkey and all the fixings and lots of spoiling for the baby and the pets.
Nanny bought Roman a Bumbo which we had to try out. He did very well in it although does quite have the neck stamina to be in it for a long time. He seemed to enjoy it.
As a tradition we visited Penland Christmas Tree Farm to cut down our Christmas Tree. Nanny and Pops help cut it down for us and get it into the house.
Matt, Roman and Maggie by our tree!
Maggie soaking up all the attention she can get! Milking it!
Roman cuddled with daddy and Maggie checking in on baby.
Maggie- AGAIN...asking for more attention.
Thanksgiving dinner- Roman also wanted to eat at that time so I had my dinner a little later.
Roman and his many faces- yet again!

Our First Hike with Roman
We ventured out to Crowders Mountain in Gastonia, NC for our first hike with Roman. We had a picnic lunch at the peak and got our first family photo of all of us.
The Baby Bjorn was perfect for carrying Roman- and he loved it...slept the entire way. You can see Maggie's disgusted face as we fawn over Roman!
View from the top! It was a gorgeous day with the colors of autumn in perfect form.
Matt was our pack mule- carrying both the baby and the back pack! He is much more sure footed than I am - not to mention stronger :)
We realize that the hikes will only get harder as Roman grows!! Matt is looking fwd to the challenge!

Roman- 1 month
Today- Roman is 1 month old. In some ways it is hard to believe that it has been that long. He is definitely growing - out of his newborn clothes and nearly into 3 month clothes. Matt practices with him every evening to crawl, walk and jump as he fully anticipates he'll be working out at Crossfit at his first birthday.
Below are pictures of him in his swing looking out the window to the backyard watching the leaves fall.
